A limited-release English single malt from White Peak's Wire Works series, Virgin Oak Finish is a lightly-peated whisky that was initially matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in virgin American oak barrels with a range of toast and char levels. Aromas of soft leather, caramelised brown sugar, cinder toffee, vanilla fudge and orchard fruits mingle with banoffee pie, raisins, nutmeg and cinnamon buns on the nose. The palate brings notes of milk chocolate, sandalwood, peppercorn, cinnamon, prunes, overripe bananas and orange marmalade, with undertones of black tea, pistachio, hone and desiccated coconut. Smoky and sweet, the finish is full of lingering notes of crème brûlée, baked apples, cherry and smoke.
