Nikka Takesturu Pure Malt is a Japanese Blended Malt Whisky with captivating freshness. It is combination of different casks from Nikka’s Yoichi and Miyagikyo single malt distilleries and has notes of pear and citrus with dark chocolate and light smoke. Nikka was set up in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the “Father of Japanese Whisky” – who while in Scotland in 1918-1920,  learned the secrets of whisky production. Masataka Taketsuru’s adopted son, Takeshi, created this whisky in honour of his father to showcase the art of blending that Masataka valued so highly. Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt Whisky is best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate the full complexity and layers of flavour from this tribute to the art of blending. A few drops of water may also help to bring out the bright and grassy top notes. This whisky is also perfect in a classic Manhattan cocktail.Â
